ATC chains: high storage capacity in the tightest of spaces

ATC chains are used as tool storages for machining centers and are therefore an interesting alternative to indexing tables, cartridges or portals. The meander-shaped chain guidance allows for a high storage capacity of tools under limited spatial conditions.

The ATC chain is designed as a Galle chain, and the plates turn on heat treated and coated bushings. Several tool holders are integrated in the bushings providing a gentle fit for the spindle cone of the respective tool. The axial pull-off force can be adjusted depending on the chain arrangement (tools lying, hanging or standing) and the tool weight.

ATC chains are manufactured to customers’ requirements with different pitches. Wippermann can also supply a variety of tool holders (SK, HSK, etc.) as well as matching sprockets.
