Hannover Fair 2019 – an outstanding success
This year's Hannover Fair was an attractive platform for the drive specialists of Wippermann with many international visitors and decision-makers from the company’s target industries. The focus of the new exhibition booth was on individually configurable drive solutions and services that are consistently adapted to customer requirements.
"Many visitors of our booth confirmed that the modular, maintenance-free high-performance chains perfectly match a demand that could not be met in this form before,” explained Dr. Stephan Gerber, Managing Director of the company. "Whether outstanding wear resistance, fatigue strength, resistance to corrosion and temperatures of up to 200°C or FDA approval – Wippermann’s lubricant-free high-performance chains can be precisely configured for the respective requirements and thus offer optimum performance combined with high cost-effectiveness. Many international visitors, whose share reached this year a new record of 40% according to the trade fair company, were interested in the special applications of maintenance-free chains: contact with water or chemicals as well as their use in the food industry were issues that frequently came up for discussion with customers.
New services: CAD data retrieval and 24-hour delivery service
In addition to a wide range of drive components, Wippermann also presented several new services at the Hannover Fair: The company's new website, which was presented for the first time at the trade fair, features the integration of the CADENAS platform, for instance. This allows customers to call up CAD data at any time for planning directly in their own CAD system. CAD data is available for all industrial chains, sprockets and also for chain couplings. Dr. Küpferle, Head of Engineering at Wippermann: "The response from our customers was extremely positive even before the trade fair, and in Hannover we were able to present the added value of CAD data retrieval to other prospects.
Wippermann also made further improvements to delivery performance: thanks to the new 24/7-delivery service for all products in the core range within Germany, Wippermann offers its customers high availability of standard chains. This is facilitated among other things by the new logistics site in Kirchlengern. On an area of 2,800 square meters, the warehouse and dispatch processes have been optimally aligned in order to further reduce response times. It goes without saying that the products can be cut to the desired length and pre-stretched in matched length. "At the trade fair, almost all of our visitors said that delivery times are a key issue for them. With our new logistics center, we are optimally positioned to supply German and international customers within extremely short delivery times," explained Dr. Gerber.
At Witra, the Wippermann Group's brand for economically particularly attractive standard chains and sprockets since 1998, new services were also the focus of interest. The new site in Kirchlengern has been consistently geared to customer requirements. In addition to the extensive range of proven roller chains, leaf chains, hollow pin chains and conveyor chains for the wood industry, Witra now also offers customer-specific customization options for sprockets thanks to state-of-the-art processing technologies.
