Answers to the most frequently asked questions about the rigid chain system Marathon Lift

The Marathon Lift is designed for a broad range of applications. Find answers to frequently asked questions regarding applications and specifications here. If you have any further questions, for example about customized designs of the system, our engineering staff will be pleased to advise you.

Thanks to the patented rigid chain, the expected service life of all Marathon Lift models has a minimum of one million operating cycles.

As the rigid chain installed in the Marathon Lift moves vertically based on a lantern gear drive, it can be moved continuously and independent of position. The accuracy depends on motor control and/or the braking performance.

The Marathon Lift does not have a self-locking function.

Control of multiple systems is possible by using servo motors or through mechanical synchronisation.

Different models are available in terms of lifting capacity, lifting height (chain length), chain magazine size as well as construction size and mounting elements.
Individual designs to customer specifications are also possible. Please use our enquiry form or contact a consultant from the Engineering Department to find an individual solution for your application

Pushing applications with horizontal chain guide can be easily implemented.

An adjustment of the installation position in relation to the direction of the drive shaft is possible within certain limits. Please use our enquiry form or contact a consultant from the Engineering Department to find an individual solution for your application.

A corrosion-protected design is not available, however, depending on the application, various components can be designed with special coatings.

Thanks to the maintenance-free Marathon chain joint, additional lubrication is not required. To prevent dust adhesion or contamination with particles from abrasive processes, the chain is sealed with our wax lubricant WKS-W to provide additional protection for the self-lubricating chain joint.

The system is designed for use in temperatures from 0 °C to 100 °C.
It is possible to provide the self-lubricating sintered bushings with a special high-temperature lubricant to extend the temperature range from -30 °C to 250 °C.
In any case, when used in extreme temperatures, we recommend testing all components of the system for their suitability for the individual requirements of your application.
